Automated data collection.

The L100 CMM scanner connects to a variety of CMM brands, converting them into versatile, multi-sensor solutions capable of quickly digitizing complex parts of any shape or size. Benefiting fully from the CNC capabilities of a CMM, measurements with the L100 scanner can be fully automated, freeing operator time and increasing productivity. Laser scanning measurements can be combined with tactile measurements to provide absolute inspection flexibility.

Ultrafast data collection.

The 100 mm wide FOV (field-of-view) combined with the increased measurement speed of up to 420,000 pts/sec results in measurement productivity that until now was unachievable by CMM scanning. Built-in FOV projection clearly indicates to a user whether the scanner is precisely positioned, simplifying programming and allowing optimal scan path generation.

Best-in-class accuracy.

The L100 is equipped with a high quality glass Nikon lens that is custom-designed and optimized for laser scanning. Combined with the high definition camera capturing 2000 non-interpolated points per line, this results in a point resolution of 42 μm, enabling measurement of fine detail and sharp edges. The L100 has an exceptionally small probing dispersion value (according to ISO10360-8 standard) of 26 μm, which is a measure of the scanner’s noise level, enabling delivery of smooth meshes and high levels of detail.

Real-time optimization of laser parameters.

The 4th generation of Nikon Metrology's patented Enhanced Sensor Performance (ESP4) adapts the laser intensity automatically to varying colors and material surfaces for each point in the scan line. It does this faster than ever, making the L100 even more capable at digitizing multi-material assemblies or shiny surfaces, without the need for time-consuming treatment of the component surface.

Easy to use.

A built-in Field-of-View (FOV) projection provides a clear indication for the user whether the scanner is optimally positioned. This facilitates scanner programming and allows for optimal scan path generation.

Extend the measurement reach.

A patent-pending, integrated mount allows the scanner to rotate around its autojoint axis in 30 degree increments up to 90 degrees. It facilitates measuring turbine blades or parts with vertically oriented features and edges. The L100 also allows the use of an extended 105-degree PH10 A-angle, allowing better access to measure underneath or behind parts.
